Sexy Veg*an???

PeTA“Hahaha” - that was my first reaction when I received the following email a couple of weeks ago:

“Congratulations, you have been chosen as one of twenty finalists in PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Contest!!!

Very shortly, we will be posting your photo and a short bio on our website, www.GoVeg.com, so the world can vote for the two final winners (one man and one woman). We will also be sending a news release to press in your hometown and where you live now, so that they will (hopefully) do a story about you and your wonderful life-saving diet. [...]

Once the contest is online, please urge all your friends and family to visit GoVeg.com to vote for you. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns.[...]“

Alright - that pretty much says it all. Gan sent my picture in, and seems like they actually liked it. Imagine my surprise. So, if you guys are in for some fun, feel free to go to GoVeg.com and vote for me there. The contest will be online from Feb. 15th through early Mar. How surreal…

school’s out

last week i had my last exam. that is - let’s hope so. if i passed that one, that’s it for exams. all that’s left from my regular curriculum then is
2 seminar papers - 10 pg each
1 project - which we are 8 months overdue with. that one’s really getting annoying.
1 master’s thesis - approx 100 pg

then - arrivederci - au revoir - baba - goodbye JKU!
well… let’s not jinx it

furthermore the job direkt project STILL is NOT finished. the graphics guy simply ditches me whenever “meetings” are scheduled. I’ve really had it. i wonder if i should just give up on it. i mean - its a grand. but its also a big hassle. and theres openBC now, which does the same shit anyways.
then secu-tech needs the site upgraded… boy… thats a story too…
and i need to get some static versions of client-server sites set up. that should be doable as well. and get me some $$$

all in all i am a bit sick of those long dragging projects - but what can you do? i need some fresh wind in my professional life. and money too for that matter…

New year, new box.

…i can use my own web site again. i decided to try a new service now, since my previous host a.) had at least weekly downtimes, b.) would not address the problems with emolife, that caused it to run super slowly and c.) his support was more like on a “when i feel like it basis”. No kidding, it sometimes took weeks(!) to get hold of him, let alone receive help, let alone qualified help. When trying to pull the emolife backup, supposedly the resources on the box there were so strained that he had to suspend the account - needless to say, without prior notice. That has been 48+ hours ago. No word whether the account would be unsuspended anytime soon.

So yeah - welcome to the new server. I still have my other sites hosted over at the other place, since moving just isn’t as much fun as it might sound plus i don’t have the time necessary for that. Oh look - server is offline again. Tststs.
