oscar nominees

“things that come to mind: havent seen a single one of the “important” movies… passion of the christ only got nominated for boring categories (yay), f911 didnt get nominated at all (boo)… shrek 2 is nominated for best score - but unfortunately for “accidentally in love”… main actors: don’t really care about either - i’d like to see hotel rwanda as that seems to be a smart flick. actresses… please not swank… winslet would be my favourite, although i dont know the movie… maybe annette benning. phantom got 3 nominations. super size this will probably be the only movie i will cross my fingers for - oh… and as i just saw “downfall” for best foreign language. i so want to see that movie. it came out here quite a while ago and was a huge deal, as it shows hitlers life as a younger guy and people here got all offended cos they showed him as a human. it was a really hard issue to approach not not make feel people too bad for that guy - but most people say that the movie is a masterpiece. so thats one i definitely would wanna see soon. how about watching the aviator? funny: jamie foxx is up for best leading and supporting actor for 2 different movies… tom cruise is off the ballot 100%.”

management of IT-projects exam last week was fair. the one tomorrow will hopefully not be all too much writing… under 10 pages i hope… enough for 2 hours anyways… accounting yesterday was a fucking joke. 2 more finance exams after tomorrow… i need motivation dammit.

praise the music year 2005

alright - 2004 somewhat sucked music wise… my “album of the year” list was rather short and only consisted of sahara hotnights and the killers as well as modest mouse. well - 2005 already is kicking ass - after having gotten hold of bloc party’s advance album i just heard the first single of moby’s upcoming album “hotel”. it’s called “lift me up” and holy crap it is one masterpiece. much like old sisters of mercy in my opinion… anyways - the album is not due before march - but make sure to check out this single… also the new adam green album seems to be very entertaining - at least i really like “gemstones” and “emily” is alright too… so what is it with all these slow albums? no more good hardcore news out there???

what else is going on: passed my controlling lecture class. yesss… now i only need the controlling seminar and the finances, investment and taxes seminar as well… the last 2 classes to finally get the bachelors’ completed and time to finish my masters as well. yesterday i had the management of it-projects exam - which went ok but sucked nevertheless since i had no idea we would have to write an exam until 5 hours before it started. hc-studying, and it should have worked out i hope…

meg is sick right now… grrrr… i didn’t actually get a chance to write about chicago at all - well… it was a great time. the pictures tell the story. while we were there the whole tsunami crap unveiled. i just wish that it wasn’t yet another occasion for the “important men” of this world to kiss up to their voters.

anyways… should go back to studying… current playlist:
1. Moby - Lift Me Up (3:05)
2. Paper Moon - Mercury Is Clearly Opposing Neptune (3:50)
3. Tegan and Sara - Walking With a Ghost (2:30)
4. The Radio Dept. - Ewan (2:24)
5. Annett Louisan - Das Spiel (3:01)
6. Georg Danzer - Ruaf mi net an (2:48)

ps: anybody checked out the “new management” note on the former main sxe website (i am NOT gonna post these moron’s url) - elitist dicks… scott sold his ideals.

2005 - bloc party

even though there is a ton going on right now, the first 2005 post is dedicated to music and a prediction:
album of the year 2005 on sid’s chart: bloc party - silent alert
jeez - i am listening to the advance copy and this is everything i expected from “helicopter” - and more. kick ass. the album goes on ebay for 50 bucks in its promo version already. damn. also i got the helicopter 7@ for 3 bucks 2 months ago - price now: 20 usd. i love this band. and i hate how much money “indie” kids have to spend for music.

mark my words - in 3 months this band will be huge.
