…i wouldn’t be able to stop puking.
Monthly Archive for November, 2004
so i just woke up (5am local time) after passing out in front of the screen - once again… yesterday… got my blood drawn to have it checked. then i found saturn_express. nice hideout…
after that: job interview with a restairant event manager. went ok. if it works out - which i assume - i’ll have a new graphic design/web programming/photography freelance job - just perfect!
then class - management for it-projects. i sat till 4am to prepare the presentation. and then one guy of the group had a test, one guy got sick and one had an important date in vienna. wtf? traitors.
cool detail: 2 cool songs i heard on the way to college - on the radio: jack johnson - tayloe AND - drimroll - for the first time ever on the radio: bloc party - helicopter. so they are right before their big break here. unfortunately they dont come here on their euro tour with interpol. and their vinyl-prices will skyrocket even more. grrrrr…
dammit - the november marilyn icon actually says october. bleh. anyway. what happened in the last weeks:
had my internal accounting exam on the 13th - it actually went better than expected. i should have my results by 6 in the evening. a lot of people whined how hard it was - i thing i - for the first time - got the stuff down and understood it. so i might have put down a good basis to pass the class. on dec. 11th i’ll have the external accounting part. keep the fingers crossed! for the exam i studied with this guy thomas from close to marchtrenk. he is 32 and lives in an apartment at his parents place still. a really nice guy. he’ll probably come into my last 2 external accounting classes as prof. nadvornik from klagenfurt is probably one of the best 2 or 3 accounting and management profs i ever had. he explains well, has a lot of humor and simply seems to care about the students… speaking of tests: i’ll have my first finances, investments and taxes test today. so i should study before i have to leave to school at 2.
i finished the secu-tech site last week and should finally get paid for that. it’ll give me some head start for the next us-trip. speaking of us of a: last week i was working at the isep booth at the universities international week. i got to know 2 guys - cory and andy - from the u of cincinnati. they were really nice and pretty interested politically. i think we chatted for like to hours. 2 chicks joined in as well - they were syd and lisa from the university of victoria on vancouver island if i remember correctly. both toronto and vancouver had colleges presented there… the shitty thing is that only about 10% of all applicants are accepted into the exchange program. i should maybe try and set up my exchange myself. maybe there are other organizations i can apply through myself? any ideas out there?
i also wanna get an own gps finally. i had a garmin summit over the weekend and martin and i went geocaching for the first time… it was more excercise than expected, but all over really fun. we discovered the first ever placed cache in upper austria - the purple treasure. it’s been lying in the woods since march 2002 already. kinda impressive. supposedly the “cat” from nyc was there a few weeks ago too… anyway… we couldn’t find a few more caches yet - 2 (charon and saturn_express) we will re-visit yet, as it was getting dark or dark already at the time we were there. bug was with us too - he seemed to have fun too - that little fella.
so - i am kinda looking into a few gps’ right now… the affordable ones would be the geko 301 and legend (with maps) - the nicest one would be the vista - but also the priciest one… we’ll see what i can afford…
i’ll also finally try to get a flash this xmas - i’m looking into the sb600. its 280 euros here regular, found it online for 161 so far though. so that would be about half the price…
and finally i had unexpected surgery on friday: i went out to the hospital to finally have my mole checked - i was getting sick of the dermatologists around here that have you wait for 2 months for appointments and another 2 for surgery dates. so i said “screw you” - if they don’t need my business they don’t get it. i got myself a transfer to the hospital and had it taken care of there… it WAS a 3 hour wait, but that was bearable.
anyways - the doc there offered me to take it out… funny thing: they dermal punched my back with a 2 gauge dermal punch - and local anaesthesia. ant they punched in deep. about .2 inches. so that was quite a chunk they took out of there… ill have an appointment with my doc this week or so to have it examined… actually i should have my blood check ups done this week than he can give me the results of all these things at the same time. also he needs to take out the stitches i got anyway. took off the huge ass band aid yesterday. the would really was getting itchy and i found out why: i am allergic to the glue. sucker.
since we’re at surgery stories already: i had my first wisdom tooth pulled about 2 weeks ago. it really was less of a problem than most people told me. i was numbed for the first 2 hours anyway and after that it was just the normal wound pain. bearable and not so tragic. the only really annoying thing was spitting the blood for the first hours.
alrighty - i should hit the books for the exam later.
rock on.

alright… haven’t feel like posting after all these crappy events…
- election: despite the fact that it doesn’t feel like it went down fair… are people too stupid for democracy?
- school: fucking finance test tomorrow - goddamn accounting test on saturday. spent the last week studying
- work: im supposed to work a PS2 promo for 3 weekends… well - that sounds like fun.
- band: this raphaela chick called me sat, 11am about “where are you? we’re practicing?”. she fucking emailed me a month ago, suggesting this date - i never got a confirmation - she was all bitchy and really annoying. she just rang me out of bed… jeez… so im out of this shit bunch. its not like i need them - they needed me.
- tv: ok - people are complaining about american tv all the time here… well… you have a number of “jerry springer” clips on talk talk talk every week, “the swan” is coming to german tv, so is “bachelorette” - all that after “my big, fat, obnoxious fiance” (which WAS funny in german i have to admit - shame on me!). and 2 versions of “the apprentice” as well - but that show sucked obviously… also to cash in on the moore craze, austrian tv is picking up “the awful truth” now…. tststs… got the dvd sets 2 years ago…
- online ordering: eddie izzard boxed set all banged up… but they promised refund. and FUCK bruno genet and pyrrhus/genet records. they totally ripped me off on gemm. assholes - so much for “true to the scene”…
- photos: i need a flash/more sensitive lens… was at the generali open tennis tournament last week as well as at the soccer field… “down low - too slow”…
- music: the new gwen stefani video rocks. lotsa german alternative bands are getting to my ears lately. also the pixies, indecision and - surprisingly - the new simple plan is pretty catchy… oh - and last but not least: check out bloc party’s helicopter… woooord.
